Law firm invests in taking the lead on presenting well

Leading Hunter-based law firm Mullane & Lindsay Solicitors is investing in giving its solicitors media and presentation skills.

Peak Presenting recently delivered customised, half-day, workshops for 12 of its team.

The workshops had an emphasis on effective presentations and networking.

We took the team through our formula for successfully telling their story – whether it is to the media, clients, colleagues or stakeholders.

Peak Presenting consultant, Melinda Smith, said the participants discovered the importance of being clear on their objective and audience.

“They gained some insight and tips on how to make that story interesting and to present it effectively to their audience,” Melinda said.

“Using our Peak Presenting formula each team member was able to quickly group-workshop their individual story – to get their approach and message straight,” she said.

“We then interviewed them on camera to show how telling their story, even under pressure, is not as hard as they thought it was going to be.”

Mullane & Lindsay general manager, Michelle Zenere, said the participants’ feedback on the training was excellent.

“Our firm’s mantra is ‘taking the lead’,” Michelle said.

“The workshops have helped our team to take the lead in telling our story.

“The practical tips will help us to more efficiently prepare presentations and, importantly, feel more in control when presenting.”

“The formula, tips and tools were all transferable to writing blogs and other client and marketing materials too,” she said.

What the participants said…

“Gave me the experience and confidence that I can do this.”

“This has been so valuable – giving us presentation tips and the courage [to present more].”

“Very helpful for court and interview settings as well.”

“A morning well spent!”

“The on the spot feedback was great.”
